Winter Vacation

Winter Vacation

Hello Sweeties,

Guess what time of year it is? IT'S WINTER VACATION!!! This means more time to sleep, read, fan girl, sleep, drink tea, eat, and do absolutely nothing! It's heaven on Earth. Well it would be if I didn't have a bunch of stuff to do.  I've got homework, Christmas parties, basketball games, and simply hanging out with my friends. Which I guess is a good thing, I wouldn't want to become a hermit, now would I?

There are many things to do on your Christmas break. Whether it's relaxing, or something extreme, the holidays are always filled with fun. Here's a few suggestions, to stop yourself from becoming a hermit, like myself.

#1. ENJOY THE SNOW!!

Up here in Canada, snow is a guarantee. But it's up to you whether you want to go and use it or not. I, personally, love the snow!! So after a big storm I'm outside either sledding, building a snowman, or chucking snowballs at my Twin. (That's my favorite.) Winter is a true gift with all it's beauty. Before you know it, it'll be melted away. So don't take it for granted. Go for a nice walk, or sleigh ride, in a beautiful winter wonder land.

#2 SOCIALIZE!!!

I know, this one is a lot to ask, but we do need human interaction from time to time. A good way to do this is either go to, or invite someone over who you actually enjoy. Friends can be great for lots of things! From ranting, to freaking out, true friends are always there to support you, even when you're going insane! So please, don't just ditch them the entire winter break, hang out with them once in a while. It'll be good for you.

#3 THROW/ATTEND A CHRISTMAS PARTY!!!!

Now this is one thing you can only during the holiday season. Christmas parties are awesome (unless they're not). They always include three things: Food, Friends, and Christmas. It doesn't matter whether it's just one with your friend, or one with your family. They always manage to find some way to slip into holiday plans. But it's not a bad thing. Take these parties as a chance to get to know some one, make some friends, re-spark old friendships, or even meet someone new, under the mistletoe. ;)

So those are the three main things, that I myself do during the Christmas season. And as much as these things rock, you can't forget to save a bit of personal time for yourself. It's never fun if your body is too worn out to enjoy it. So don't forget to pull aside a few minutes of your day for a little R&R (Rest and Relaxation)

Wishing you Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year,

The Nerdy Blogger

A Holly Jolly Return

A Holly Jolly Return

Hello My Sweeties!

I am glad to announce that I have returned from my long, long break. This time for, hopefully, good. And what better timing? With the holidays coming just around the corner, I'll have more time on my hands then ever! YAY!!

Speaking of the holidays, who's excited for Christmas? I AM!!!!! You may not know this, but Christmas just happens to be my FAVOURTE holiday...like ever. I mean come on?! How can you hate it? There's snow, family, friends, food, laughing, embarrassing pictures from your childhood, and, oh yes, the egg nog. Christmas is the one time of the year where we all get together and get know each other all over again. Not mention relive all those wonderful, old memories with those you love. Yup! Christmas has be one of the most cheerful times of the year.

But as much as I love it, it does have it's cons. And I'm not talking about holiday bellies. I'm talking about the big S.C., Mr. HO HO HO. That's right. I'm talking about Santa Clause. Now you're probably thinking, "But who could hate Santa?!?" Calm down, dudes! I never said I hated the fellow, I'm just saying that he distracts from the big picture of Christmas! People get so caught up in making the best light show, and giving the best gift, and cooking the best meal, that they forget about their families. It can make anyone throw their hands in the air and yell "BAH HUM BUG!"

Of course we don't mean to be so forgetful, and competitive, but as time goes, it get's harder and harder to fight the temptation. Our generation is becoming one of greed, gluttony and pride. We're so caught up in the fancy lights, and huge presents, that we forget the true meaning of Christmas. We forget that Christmas isn't about the gifts or turkeys, or red and green lights, or a man in a red and white suit with some serious weight issues! It's about giving to others, not because you want them to give you something back, or because you have to, but because you want to. It's about making some one smile, or laugh just to make them happy. It's about helping out those in who have less then you. That's the true spirit of Christmas.

So this holiday season, I challenge all of you to do something good for someone in your community. Whether it's shoveling some ones drive way for free, or giving a goodie basket to your neighbour, or singing Christmas carols to the seniors at the local nursing home. Do something that makes someone smile. I think you'll find that you'll feel twice as good as when you entered! Now go, my little elves! Spread joy!

Merry Christmas to all! And to all a good night!....Or something like that :)

My Inner Fan Girl

ATTENTION FAN PEOPLES EVERY WHERE!!!

It's coming. In as little as one week. It will arrive...ONCE UPON A TIME SEASON 5 IS STARTING!!!!!! I've literally been going insane! My brain is stacked with theories, I'm stalking all the cast on twitter for any teasers. Not too mention all the feels from the season 4 finale are returning. I'm just so excited!!! I mean come on!! Did you see how they left us completely clueless, and heartbroken? It's cruel. So I'm simply freaking our over these newly discovered facts and teasers that have been popping up everywhere.

Ah, and that friend I told you about, Fan Girl? Yeah she kind of gave me some major Marvel spoilers that she discovered from reading the comics, before class started. Needless to say I was trying my hardest to crawl into a corner and grieve over my lost heroes. I mean....Why? Why does Stan Lee feel the need to destroy our emotional balance? And why do we still jump at the chance do discover it we know he'll most likely kill our favorite character! It kind of reminds me of Steven Moffat. It's like, oh look. 'They like this guy a lot. Let's murder him!' NO!!! YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO PEOPLE!! Sometimes I wish I could just steal the characters from them and force them to be nice to them or they would never get them back...Who am I kidding? If I got my hands on Captain America I would never give him back for any amount of money! I mean, have you seen those muscles?! And his manners, and eyes, and innocents? *Swoons* Somebody catch me.

On another note Doctor Who season 9 has started, and still haven't finished season 8!!! I guess I just got caught up in all my other fandoms I forgot about my very first. That's right. I was a Whovian before I became anything else. It was a glorious moment. My first episode was 'The Girl In The Fireplace.' My Step-Dad was watching it, and I kind of butted in. I liked it and searched for it on Netflix. From there my journey as a Fan Girl had only just begun. *sighs* I was still half sane back then.

Now before I add to my already deprived sleeping cycle I'm afraid I must retreat.

Goodbye, and may the odds be in your favor,

Welcome To Hel- I Mean, School.

Hello Peoples,

Some of you may be wondering, where the heck I've been these past two weeks. My answer is one word. School. I have recently entered this small group, I'm sure you've heard of it. It's called high school. HIGH SCHOOL!!! As in the place that every book, fan fiction, and movie describe as pure torture. Yup, that's the one. But I must admit. I completely disagree with this stereotypical statement that's set upon us teenagers. I actually find school fun! All my teachers are pretty chill, and my classes don't seem too hard yet, but there is only two down sides in my new high school life.

Number One: My schedule

I HAVE GYM EVERY FRICKEN' DAY UNTIL NOVEMBER!!!! Do you know how much that sucks?! And it's not even last period! It's 5th, so I have to spend and entire class sweaty, and go on a long bus ride home. Sounds fun, right? (Note the sarcasm) I mean if I didn't get sweaty I wouldn't mind gym. It actually helps me get in shape for basketball season! But the fact that I'm coated in a thin layer if sweat for an entire hour disturbs me. It is not fun. I hate it.

Number Two: Sleep Deprivation

Now this is partially my fault. I hate sleep, sleep hates me. We have an agreement. The problem is I work the morning shift Saturdays. Meaning I only have Sundays to sleep in. And sometimes not even that! Most of the time we go to church Sundays, so I don't get the chance to sleep at all!! I NEED SLEEP!!! I'M LIKE A WALKING ZOMBIE AT SCHOOL!!! I think it's starting to effect my writing. That makes me mad. Mess with my sanity all you want Sleep, but don't mess with my writing!!!

Besides that schools been sweet. I get to see my favorite teachers, my precious library,
hang out with my friends, and I made a new friend. I'm going to call her Fan Girl. Why this name you ask? Because she is in all of the same fandoms as me and many more. She is a huge fan girl. Fan Girl, Glasses (my other friend), and I hang out all the time. What do we do? We play Uno with Princess Bride playing card, and eat skittles, while fan girling about my monthly obsession. This month it's Marvel. Can you blame me? They've got Chris Evans (TWICE), Tom Hiddelston, and Robert Downey JR!! If that's not enough to make a girl melt, I don't know what is!

Anywho, that's basically been my routine for the past two weeks. But I guess that's normal in my life. And it hasn't even hit the busy season yet! I'm telling the worst is yet to come. Now that will be torture.

Wish me luck,

The Nerdy Blogger

Shopping Spree (Halifax part 2)

Hello My Dear Minions,

I may of been too busy to update for the past two days, so today I decided to tell you guys about the major events in my life. Let's start on my last day in Halifax, or as I like to call it 'The Shopping Frenzy!' If you don't want to read this post, but want to know what the Shopping Frenzy is, I'll sum it up for you. Me, my twin, and our bestie, set loose in Halifax with multiple outlets and malls to choose from, for 8 hours straight. Thats right. 8 FULL HOURS OF SHOPPING!!!!! Talk about fun...yet slightly painful. Oh the stories I have to tell you! Where do we begin?

How about from the begin? It all started at the Bayer's Lake outlet center. First store was Ardenes, spent a bunch of money, blah, blah, blah, left the store...Oh yes! Pet Smart! It's not that Ardenes wasn't fun, it was I bought I bunch of my clothes there. But the things that happened in Pet Smart. Twinie, and Bestie both have rabbits. So the moment they saw the small dog costumes they immediately thought, 'OMG! Let's torture our innocent bunnies and force them to wear these cute costumes!!' Well maybe not that exactly, but something along those lines. And Bestie may of actually been thinking of putting hers on her puppy, but still! So they looked upon the hundreds of Halloween costumes, yes Halloween costumes for dogs in August, on They finally chose one. Twinie decided on a small red shirt that red 'I'm only for the treats.' which made sense because her rabbit is plain out fat. And Bestie came upon a pink shirt that said '100% Adorable.' seemed the perfect fit for her cute puppy.

After looking at costumes a wall of small critters caught their eyes. Small, furry, critters. Guinea pigs, to be exact. They went nuts. I must admit, they were pretty cute. Twinie began to beg my mother if we could get one when we returned home. She tried to explain that out of all the pets my sister has had (a small red fish, a hamster named Rascal, and a black hamster named Twilight) None of them really lasted. Basically they were lucky if they lived for a year, and if they did, well, they were insane. So I really don't blame my mother for saying no. Again Twinie begged saying that 'She would take better care of her rabbit
, and show she can take care of a Guinea Pig.' My mother agreed these terms. But I don't think Twinie will ever reach her standards of responsible enough.

While Twinie, and Bestie were looking at little treats for their pets I was focused on the fish. I find fish are beautiful, peaceful, creatures. They involve a bit of care, but not much. They are silent, and quiet calming. I had my eye on a male crown tailed beta fish, that was a variety of shades of blue. He was truly majestic.  knew I couldn't buy him that day, but I knew that once I had finish decorating my room, I could get myself one. I decided I'd either name it Nova, Galaxy, or TARDIS. My mom said no to the TARDIS name :( . Shortly after these thoughts we left. Once I was at the van I realized something. I didn't have my wallet. I walked into Pet Smart with it, but I hadn't let with it. I instantly sprinted  back into the store and searched every isle. My mind instantly went back to the fish. As it turns out, I had put down my wallet while looking at these amazing fish. But the small change bag wasn't there. Eventually my mom joined me. She told me to ask the employees. Me being an idiot and slightly timid, I decided to ignore her and continue looking. Eventually I gave up, and went back to mom. She was holding my wallet, she went to the employees... they had it the entire time. After bathing them in thanks we finally left.

So that was just one adventure. There are many others, like me spending a lot of my school clothes money and  Doctor Who merchandise and Marvel movies. Whoops? There was also the time we personalized our own 'Share A Coke' can. And me buying the most amazing pair of combat boots I have ever laid eyes on!! *Sighs* That was a fun time. But we don't have time to talk about it all today, so it will have to wait for another time.

Road Trip! :)

Hello People!

So today the girls in my family decided to go on a road trip. Not a very long one, but long enough. Where to you may ask? Well the answer is simple. Halifax, Nova Scotia.

If you've never been on a road trip before you believe that the drive there is fun, quiet, relaxing, and beautifully. Or maybe you have been on one and still think those thoughts. Well you've never gone on one with my family.

You see we're kind of mixture of psychos all put into one house. Here's a little intro. My mother: Tells you not to do something, goes and does it her self, also hangs out her laundry in the rain. My step-father: Can go from acting like the biggest and loudest jerk you've ever seen, to a super annoying 5 year old with in seconds. My twin: She adores boy bands. I'm talking about '5 Seconds Of Summer', 'One Direction', 'The Cab', etc. Her go to topic is them, and if she's reading it's probably a fan fiction. My brother: Is always doing something loud. Whether it's shouting, playing guitar, playing video games, or even building a bicycle! He's always on the go. My middle sister: She's got the sass and the fire of, well, Satan. You get her angry, she breaks something. But if she wants something she's all over you. Then there's my older sister. I'm pretty sure she's the only sane one in bunch. How she's put up with us all these years, I don't know. But she did it somehow! I think I've always looked up to her for that.

Anyways, back to the story. It started at 1:00 p.m. Now that's a pretty decent time to leave, if we actually left at that time. Both my twin and I got the same idea to pack last minute. Let me tell you, it's a horrible idea. Don't do it! So by the time we actually got the dog to stop trying to sneak his way into the car over and over again, we finally left. The moment the car started Twinie (the name I'm calling my twin) decided to show us that she brought all of her CD's. "Since it's a long drive we'll be able to listen to all of them!" Let me tell you, she was not lying. Not for one second was there a moment of silence. For me this was terrible. Not because it was bad music or anything. Don't get me wrong, I actually like '5 Seconds Of Summer' and 'Ed Sheeran' (especially Ed Sheeran) and even 'One Direction' But listening to them none stop, for hours, when you're running on 8 hours of sleep, is just nauseating.

So I try to block them out. I read some Avenger fan fictions on Wattpad, text my friends, eat some junk food. And it actually worked for a while...Then my mom decided to bother me. Since I was riding shotgun, I got the be her, and I quote, 'secretary'. She was supposed to get a conference call, through blue tooth, later on and since she was driving she couldn't write notes, so I had to do that. And just to let you know, I don't have the neatest penmanship. And if that wasn't made enough, I was also her personal GPS. Meaning she hands me a map, with directions written in the margin. And I read her them at the right time, or she yells at me and we get lost. FUN!!

But I must say, it was all worth it. Those few minutes when I was not busy with my mom, and blocking out Twinie, I could look out the window and see some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. And even when we reached Halifax and was down town, the city itself look amazing. To say I was impressed when we reached our hotel, Coastal Inn, is an understatement. Two Queen size beds, free Wi-Fi, A pool, free breakfast, and they have some movies that you can sign out and watch in your room. (We chose Spider-man 2)

So after a long car drive, a nice bit of swimming, and a junk food fest while watching Spidey on a flat screen, I can't complain. And this has just been day 1! Tomorrow we do some, okay a lot, of shopping, and maybe even a little sight seeing.

Until then,

The Nerdy Blogger

It's All About Me

Hello World!

So here it is! Post number one. I like to think of this as a big achievement for finally getting the courage to actually start a blog! But, me being me, I decided it was about time. Right now you guys know nothing about me. And that's okay. I mean if you knew everything about me you'd be classified as a stalker. So enough babbling, let's get on with this post. It's. All. About. Me.

Let's lay down the basics. Hi! *waves enthusiastically* My names... Who am I kidding! I can't put my real name online!! So just call me The Nerdy Blogger. I'm a teenager who lives in North America. My friends think I'm insane, but I think that's normal. I mean we're all mad here right? I'm the biggest nerd in my family. I spend all my time either reading or writing. Whether it's a paper pack novel, or a fan fiction on Wattpad, I love it. I'm a straight A student, and ADORE the shows: Supernatural, Doctor Who. Sherlock (BBC), and Once Upon A Time. As for movies I love anything and everything Marvel (especially the Avengers), Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and almost any movie with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. They're epic.

Unlike your stereotypical nerd, I don't isolate myself. In fact, I do quite the opposite! I play basketball, I'm in the drama club, and student council. Those three things plus school keep my life pretty busy. I'm one to stay in crowds, and try to make people happy for no reason at all. But most importantly, I don't tolerate bullying on any level. It's the biggest thing I'm against.

Now here's the catch, the entire reason I'm writing this blog. My life dreams are to become a full time Travel Writer, and a part time Author. I've always loved writing ever since I was little. I may not of been good at it until several years ago, but oh well! The main thing I write at the moment is fan fictions on this cute little website/app called Wattpad. But I still write a few fictional novels, in a variety of genres. So I think that maybe I wont be a terrible blogger.

So that's me. A crazy. insanely busy, creative, nerdy teenager who dream of writing a number one bestseller. I should probably let you know this will probably be the most boring one of my posts, because it's simply a biography. But the next one, is going to be all about my trip to the lovely Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Laters,
The Nerdy Blogger
