A Holly Jolly Return

A Holly Jolly Return

Hello My Sweeties!

I am glad to announce that I have returned from my long, long break. This time for, hopefully, good. And what better timing? With the holidays coming just around the corner, I'll have more time on my hands then ever! YAY!!

Speaking of the holidays, who's excited for Christmas? I AM!!!!! You may not know this, but Christmas just happens to be my FAVOURTE holiday...like ever. I mean come on?! How can you hate it? There's snow, family, friends, food, laughing, embarrassing pictures from your childhood, and, oh yes, the egg nog. Christmas is the one time of the year where we all get together and get know each other all over again. Not mention relive all those wonderful, old memories with those you love. Yup! Christmas has be one of the most cheerful times of the year.

But as much as I love it, it does have it's cons. And I'm not talking about holiday bellies. I'm talking about the big S.C., Mr. HO HO HO. That's right. I'm talking about Santa Clause. Now you're probably thinking, "But who could hate Santa?!?" Calm down, dudes! I never said I hated the fellow, I'm just saying that he distracts from the big picture of Christmas! People get so caught up in making the best light show, and giving the best gift, and cooking the best meal, that they forget about their families. It can make anyone throw their hands in the air and yell "BAH HUM BUG!"

Of course we don't mean to be so forgetful, and competitive, but as time goes, it get's harder and harder to fight the temptation. Our generation is becoming one of greed, gluttony and pride. We're so caught up in the fancy lights, and huge presents, that we forget the true meaning of Christmas. We forget that Christmas isn't about the gifts or turkeys, or red and green lights, or a man in a red and white suit with some serious weight issues! It's about giving to others, not because you want them to give you something back, or because you have to, but because you want to. It's about making some one smile, or laugh just to make them happy. It's about helping out those in who have less then you. That's the true spirit of Christmas.

So this holiday season, I challenge all of you to do something good for someone in your community. Whether it's shoveling some ones drive way for free, or giving a goodie basket to your neighbour, or singing Christmas carols to the seniors at the local nursing home. Do something that makes someone smile. I think you'll find that you'll feel twice as good as when you entered! Now go, my little elves! Spread joy!

Merry Christmas to all! And to all a good night!....Or something like that :)
