So I have decided that I want to share with you guys some of the other stuff that I write. I knew I didn't want it to be too long, and that it had to be, I don't know, not fan fiction. Eliminating anything that fell under those categories I was left with one thing..


Poetry!


So this is one of the many poems I have written, and this particular is- well I guess you'll have to read and find out!

Title: Who Am I?


Who am I?


It's a weird question isn't?
To know your name and what you look like,
But not who you truly are.


The world makes it seem like we all have to be the same,
Or else.
Or else we'll be something horrible.


Different.


Because of this we're scared to see who we are,
Who we could be,
And what controls us.


Because it seems that what identifies us is what controls us.


So who am I?


Am I fear?


Am I constantly anxious and worried about other's opinions?


Am I blinded the anxiety that I'll mess up, and fail, and be judged for one mistake by the whole
world?


Am I terrified that one day I'll wake up and be alone,
But am too afraid to confront others?


Am I drowning in the voids of my brain as I constantly over think everything?


Every person,
Every event,
Every location,


Every single aspect of my life until I'm too afraid to breath?


Could that be? Is that even possible?


Or am I something else?


Am I anger?


Could I be someone who will simply explode if you approach them?


Or am I the kind of person that just glares at life as it dares to pass by?


You know.


The kind that are angry at themselves for every regret?


The ones that are so full of rage, and so frustrated at their own actions, that they take it out on others?


One of the people that are so angry they just want to scream.


Scream at their failures,
Their mistakes,
Their emptiness,
Their self-pity,
Their emotions.


And simply continue screaming until they have no voice to cry out with, and are left stranded and alone on an island of misery.


No.


That's not me either.


So am I sadness?


Is that me?


Am I surrounded by the weighted gloom of depression?


Have I taken on so much hate, and so much pressure that I've become numb?


Has life fired one too many bullets at me and forced me to build a wall around my fragile heart?


Do I lie to those I love to protect myself, and lie to myself to protect them?


Am I really the kind of person who doesn't truly trust anyone enough to even consider letting them in enough to help lift the weight?


The weight of my insecurities,
My lowest moments,
My biggest fears,
My major issues.


Would I rather be crushed under all that weight than risk even the smallest possibility of getting hurt?


Is that really who I want to be?


Are these really options to be considered?


Yes,
They are.


Because all though I'm scared to confess this,
And all though it fills me with rage every time I look back at my past,
And fills me with sadness when I look at some of the stuff that's happened;


It's part of who I am.


I've allowed myself to drown in fear.
I've exploded, and demolished entire friendships with my anger.
I've hidden myself in sadness.


Because that was me.


But I've also laughed at memories of my childhood.
I've shrieked and howled in happiness as I've adventures outside of my home,
I've cried tears of joy as I've told my friends my story, and have them support me.


Because through out all of this, I've really learned one thing.


Maybe I wear weird clothes, and talk to myself sometimes.
Maybe I obsess over strange things and talk non-stop about said things.
Maybe I'd rather spend my time in a library reading than sit at a table of strangers,
Maybe I dream wild things, and rebel against others to prove myself right.


Maybe I am different.


But that's okay.


Because different is beautiful.


It's unique, creative, fantastic, mystical, enchanting and simply, fascinating.


Different is being able to say, "Yah, I did that." And not give a damn what others think.


Because you are you.


You may not be a model, or a pop star, or an athlete, or smart.


But you are special, and that's gorgeous.


So yeah, I am different.


And that's what makes me proud of who I am.

Summertime Madness

Summertime Madness


Hello there, my darlings!


MAN! How I have missed you guys! Time has flown by, and it's already summer, months since my last post! (Sorry about that by the way) but let's get back to business...


Who am I kidding? What the heck am I talking about?! It's summer! And that means lots and lots of spontaneous fun... unless you have a summer job... like me... God I have no life.


Anyways back to fun! I don't know about you, but it's been pretty sunny up here in the Maritimes. And sunshine means perfect whether for the great outdoors! And New Brunswick, specifically the Moncton and Albert County area, is the perfect place to do everything. I should know, I grew up there! So here's a list of the different things that area ALWAYS on my summer to do list for Moncton, Hopewell Cape, and Alma. All of those part of New Brunswick!

1: Magic Mountain


My family and I go make a stop at the water wonderland every year. And just recently it's gotten even better. For those who don't know Magic Mountain used to be an amazing water park on Magnetic Hill in Moncton. But now, it's new and improved. The waterslide topic has expanded into 4 different zones.


First there's the Splash Zone. This part is the real original, as it holds all of the waterslide, and pools and has always been apart of Magic Mountain. In this zone there's stuff for everyone! There's multiple waterslides, my favourite being the Tornado, each one leaving you thrilled and refreshingly soaked. For those who have no fear there's the monstrous Kamikaze. This bad boy has an over 100 feet (30 meters), nearly vertical drop that looms over the entire park, and will leave it's victims with one heck of a wedge! I know from experience! For the more mellow folks there's the Wave Pool that's basically a huge pool that switches from your average simple waves to huge, crazy waves that are bound to make you smile. And if you simply want to relax you can take a ride the lazy river and bob around the river in a comfy tube. 


The next zone is the Fun Zone! This area is brand spanking new. Although I haven't personally been there yet, I know for a fact that this place is full of rides and roller coasters of all kinds! Going off the little bit of research I've done, the different rides in this zone consist of  Wave Swinger, The Star Jumper, The Rio Grande, and the Sky Flyer.


There's also two other smaller zones known as the Golf Zone, for a good day of golfing, and the Tech Zone, an arcade for all the gamers out there.

2. Hopewell Rocks


 Now maybe I'm a biased because I practically grew up at this place, but it is seriously amazing. The Hopewell Rocks is home of the Bay Of  Fundy, which has the highest tides in the world. And I'm not talking about a petty 10ft. No, these tides are actually 3 times that at least! The Bay Of Fundy has an average of 36ft and a maximum of 52ft in height! Over a periods of 6 hours over 160 billion tons of water flows in and out of the Rocks daily. That's enough to fill the Grand Canyon!


During high tide at the Hopewell Rocks, they give you the opportunity to see the murky, chocolate coloured water as it fills up our coves and leaves the only the top half of their ginormous flower pot rocks visible. If your the kind of person that likes to get up close and personal with nature, you may enjoy this next bit, because they also give you the chance to get into a kayak and glide along the surface of these powerful tides. With the Kayak Tours it gives you a chance to experience the Bay of Fundy like no other, as you are literally paddling through the waters and around the breath taking rock formations.


Another 6 hours later you have a completely different and new site to adventure, because once the tide goes out, the ocean floor is revealed and left for you to explore. And this is what is really special about the park. Because sure, when you physically see the tides you get an idea of how big the tides are, but it's not until you are standing on the muddy floor, looking up at the flower pot rocks that you really grasp how massive it is. Not only is it a unique and one of a kind tour, but it also allows you to leave your foot print on the ocean floor and discover the different formations like Dinosaur Rock or Mother-In-Law Rock or the world famous Lover's Arch.


If you think that's all the Hopewell Rocks provides you're extremely wrong. They have an amazing restaurant that makes my taste buds scream just from looking at the menu. It's honestly that good! And if you're waiting for the tide to come in or just looking for the perfect way to remember the trip, the Tidal Treasures Gift Shop can help with that. The gift shop has everything! From clothes to toys to ornaments, books, and food, the gift shop will never leave you unsatisfied.

Over all the place is spectacular with fantastic staff and costumer service, and the sight and the Bay Of Fundy itself is truly a wonder of nature.

3. Fundy National Park

In case you didn't get the chance to really 'be one with nature' at The Rocks you can always go and camp out at Fundy National Park. They have everything a nature love could ask for. Amazing trails, breath taking scenery, relaxing waterfalls, cozy campsites, and a heck of a lot more! I have come here multiple times, and Fundy never fails to impress.


Not only does this place have great wilderness stuff, they have awesome activities to help make your experience even better. You can kayak on Bennett Lake, or swim in their heated salt water pool, you can learn about the nature and wildlife itself at their information center, or take the kids to their crazy, wonderful, play park. Now instead of going on and on about this place, which I very well could because it's so astonishing, I'm just going to show you in a video my class made about it 2 years ago.

And there you have it! My top three places to hang out during the summer in New Brunswick, Canada. If you guys ever do get the chance to hang out in NB, make sure you check these attractions out, you won't regret it.

A Mother Daughter Date

A Mother Daughter Date


Bonjour Mes Amis!


Don't worry, that'll be the only French in this post. Today was supposed to be a boringly normal day, but it seems that it took a turn for the better. Let me explain.


First of all it's my friend Taylor's birthday! (Happy Birthday Taylor!) So while her and my twin went bowling and all that other fun stuff, my mom and I were sort of stuck in Moncton, New Brunswick with nothing to do.  So what do two creatively, crazy women with a love of culture do in said city? We find the nearest café to go people watching of course!


Now for those who don't know what people watching is, I'll give you a quick summary. It's when you find a nice quiet spot to sit and relax, while you point out different people and create absurd stories about them.
For example: A man dressed in all black and a hoodie walks by holding a dirty duffel bag, and suspiciously seems to be in a rush. Obviously that man had just robbed a bank and in the midst of getting away. But when his escape car never showed, he had to dash on foot. Now he weaves through the crowd as he tries to blend in and hide from the cops, but it's only a matter of time before they catch him.
Something like that!


This is what my mother and I do in our spare time. And no, we do not have a life.

Now this post is less about people watching and more about the café we happened to stumble upon and went people watching in. The café is called Café C'est La Vie, and it is the most artistic, most comfortable, most amazing café I have ever been to! Seriously it is now on my list of: Favorite Spots in Moncton!


This place is something else! It exhibits a local artists art work for month, every month. It has a huge variety of teas, and different international food selection, that tastes amazing by the way. They offer some food gluten free, and when they do, my mother noticed they added a little more food beside her sandwich because gluten free bread is smaller than normal bread. Talk about considerate. The service in this place makes you feel welcomed, and the building itself is over flowing with inspiration!


The workers there are polite, and very kind. I honestly felt like I was at home there! So, if you're ever in Main Street, Moncton, N.B, Canada, be sure to stop by at Café C'est La Vie! 

So that just about sums up my day. As I said before, no life!

Do You Believe in Magic?




Welcome Princesses, and Princes!




Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there was a nerdy blogger. She and her family had craved and planned to search and discover a world of magic and adventure for many years, but because there was so many of them; they could not. But as fate would have it, after 15 years of waiting the moment had finally arrived. They got into their mystical carriage and drove to the place where wishes come true. Disney World.




In case you couldn't tell from my epic intro, I'm going to just say it. I went to Disney! Now for those who have already been there multiple times, or don't really care about it and probably think that I'm over reacting, let me explain something.




 I have been waiting to go to Disney World for as long as I can remember. But there are 7 people in my family, and it cost a fortune to go, so we never got the opportunity. So I grew up to all my friends going, and lived off the stories that they'd return with, and dreamed of when I would be able to experience it for myself.




For some reason, my mom grew tired of waiting and finally decided to work a few things out so that this entire trip would be possible. We all hopped into our sexy mini van and drove 3000 km, one way, to Florida (this is of course with many stops in between) On March 9th we finally did it. We went to Disney!!




It was exactly as I dreamed. We had gone to the Magic Kingdom, which is fabulous! You enter through old fashioned Main Street before you had the option to go four ways: 1. Into the futuristic  territory of Tomorrow Land 2. Explore the magical sites of Fantasy Land 3. Go back in time through Frontier Land or 4. Discover new wonders in Adventure Land. And sitting in the middle it of all this was, of course, Cinderella's beautiful castle!


Now we went on almost all the rides. From the really fast ones like The Dwarves Mining ride, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Thunder Mountain, to the slow yet magnificent one like Under The Sea, The Pirates Of Caribbean, and Peter Pan's Flight. To be honest I absolutely adored the slow ones because it's the slow ones that take you into the movie in a way I didn't now was possible!


If you are to go to Disney there is positively one thing you must do to finish your Disney experience, and that's stay for the closing firework, and light show along with the closing parade! They are so marvelous, and all together fascinating! I swear I was 5 again as I watched fireworks explode above my head to the beat of my favorite Disney songs. And if you don't catch the afternoon parade, you have to see the night time one, because it's that one that has the floats all strung with lights!


So that was my Disney experience, my one day of royalty. Comment about your experience, and/or your favorite Disney movie.

We Found A Zoo!

We Found A Zoo!




Greetings Mates,




So I didn't post anything yesterday, for one simple reason. Nothing really happened yesterday. We went shopping at the Legacy Place in Dedham. I got a new dress :)




But today is a completely different story. Why you may ask? We went to Roger Williams Park Zoo.


Now where is this zoo? Well, let me tell you! Roger Williams Park Zoo is on Rhode Island, and is absolutely amazing!!

This zoo has just about everything there is to offer. There's cheetahs, zebras, elephants, giraffes and even a red panda. A RED STICKEN PANDA!!!! Do you know how cute those things are? They are so adorable.

Roger William's is a huge zoo. My family and I were able to go around the entire thing in around   1.5 - 2 hours. The experience is astonishing.  It makes you feel like a child all over again!

This zoo is definitely a place to put on your bucket list. It's given me tons of new memories that will last a life time, as I hope it will for you too!

ROADTRIP!!!!!


Hello, My Friends!


Alright! So for the next 10 days I will hopefully be making a new post everyday. Why you may ask? BECAUSE MY FAMILY'S GOING ON A ROADTRIP ACROSS THE STATES!!!!!


That's right! We start in my home town in New Brunswick, then make our way through to Boston for 3 days, Washington just for a night, then our main stop Florida (Disney!!!), and we continue on to Myrtle Beach, and make one last stop on New York City.


Now to be honest, we actually started our trip yesterday. So allow me to fill you in.


My two sisters, my step-brother, my step-dad, my mom and I, all hopped into our van around 5:00 a.m. We began our super long car ride to Boston, after hours of fighting, sleeping, eating, singing, and readings, we actually arrived there at 3:45 p.m.


Our hotel is amazing! We're staying and the Hampton Inn on the outskirts of Boston, and it is beautiful. They have a pool and hot tub, a gym,  and awesome free breakfast, beautiful furniture, and so much more. Not mention the fact that the staff are amazing and really friendly. I absolutely love it here. Yet again if you stick anywhere with a pool, free wifi, and free food, you'll have my heart in your hands! 

 

After settling into the hotel, we decided to head out for supper....At the original Wahlburgers restaurant!! This foodie hot spot, is a definite must see if you are in Boston. It is so awesome! The atmosphere itself is spectacular. And the food, oh my gosh, it is sooooooooo good! I'm telling you their burgers are moan worthy! I still can't believe how good it was. This restaurant definitely lives up to it's reputation.

Now, what do you do after you eat a wonderful, filling, meal? Why walk around and do a little shopping of course. We walked around the beautiful town of Quincy and stopped to multiple stores. Bed, Bath and Beyond, Trader Joe's, and Marshalls. Now understand I've never been to any of these stores, with the exception of Marshalls. To say I was impressed was an understatement. Bed, Bath and Beyond, not only looks beautiful but the stuff inside it is amazing! If you're starting to move out on your own, I would definitely recommend going there. There's also Trader Joe's. They bring a whole new definition to grocery shopping! They've got all kinds of different foods. There's Cookie Butter, Shrimp Nuggets, and lots and lots of other stuff. Now I didn't really do much at Marshalls. But it's the only place I actually bought something at. I got a brand new bathing suit, that I absolutely love! So thank you Marshall where ever you are.

The day ended with a nice swim at the hotel, and quick relaxing shower. We all headed to bed and got ready for tomorrow. A day reserved for shopping.

Hi Guys,


So I just found out that if you share one of my posts it says my name in all caps right underneath it. So I am going to reveal to you my identity.


Hi, I'm Brooklyn Wilkins. Call me, Brook. I'm a 14 year old from New Brunswick, Canada. I don't really have that much of a life. But my dream job is to be a travel writer, so that I can explore the world doing my what I love. Writing. 

I like to say that I'm smart, whether it's true or not I have no idea. My favourite colour is TARDIS blue, my favourite Marvel character is Captain America, my favourite Whinchester is Sam, my favourite Doctor is 11 (But I never skipped 9 or 10, their still amazing too), and Loki will forever be better then Thor.


To say I'm a Fan Girl is an understatement. I tend to obsess over almost everything, and 'ship' all kinds of couples. I'm talking about anyone from my O.T.P. 'Captain Swan' (from Once Upon A Time), to 'Destiel' (From Supernatural), to 'Sherlolly' (From Sherlock, and I do like the idea of JohnLock too)


So that's basically who I am. I hope this has answered any questions. I'll see you guys around!
